From Webflow to Astro: why we rebuilt the studio site
We moved beterdesign off Webflow and rebuilt the studio site on Astro — for speed, for sharper control over the design, and for changes that go live in minutes.

The site you're reading is new. We rebuilt beterdesign from the ground up, moving off Webflow and onto Astro — the same framework we now reach for when a client's brand deserves a faster, sharper foundation. Here's why we made the switch.
Faster by default
Astro ships almost no JavaScript until a page actually needs it. Pages render as clean, static HTML and load the moment they're requested, so the site feels instant on any connection and any device. For a studio whose work lives in the detail, speed isn't a nice-to-have — it's part of the craft, and part of how a luxury brand gets found and remembered.
Design without compromise
Webflow is generous until the moment your ambition outgrows it. On Astro we own every line of markup, every animation, every type decision. The dark, tactile look of the studio — Cabinet Grotesk display, Zodiak italic accents, the way sections reveal as you scroll — is ours to shape pixel by pixel, with nothing fighting us underneath. The design elevates because the tools stop getting in the way.
Updates that ship in minutes
Content now lives where it should: copy and structure in code, stories and case studies in a dedicated studio our team edits directly. A change becomes a small, deliberate edit that's reviewed and deployed in minutes — no wrestling with a visual editor, no fragile rebuilds. The site stays current because keeping it current is finally easy.
What this means for our clients
The same thinking behind our own rebuild is the thinking we bring to yours: a site that's fast, considered, and built to last — one that's as easy to grow as it is beautiful to launch. If you're still on Webflow and feeling its ceiling, this is the conversation we'd love to have.
